ABOUT GOOSE VALLEY
The Goose Valley
Golf Estate and Goose Valley Golf Club was developed in 1994 on
land belonging to Gary Player. Goose Valley is the only
residential Golf Estate in Plettenberg Bay. The Estate boasts
magnificent Cape Fynbos vegetation. Properties are in demand and
considered an excellent investment, particularly because the
Estate is right next door to all Plettenberg Bay's major
facilities.
The golf course
and the Estate is 100% irrigated from the nearby Ganz River
which meanders through the grounds, ensuring that the Estate and
course are always in superb condition. Goose Valley has for
several years been ranked amongst South Africa's Top 50 Golf
Courses and in the Top 20 Best Conditioned Courses.

which stands were released in 2002; and the third, Fairway Close Private

(apartments) that are individually owned. The scheme has a Homeowners

on New England / Cape Cod styled homes. Fairway Close in on the north side of
the golf course. The size of homes varies between 300 and 500 square metres on
freehold stands of 700 to 1000 square metres.
GENERAL
All three developments liaise
closely with one another, contributing to overall homeowner harmony on the
Estate.
International golfing icon,
Gary Player, is also a homeowner. The player holiday home has been at Goose
Valley for more than 25 years, which resulted in Gary deciding to surround his
family home with a world class golf course.
All home owners
are automatically members of the Golf Club and their annual golf subscriptions
are included in their monthly Homeowner Association levies.
Security
The Estate employs its own
Security Manager and security is amongst the best available in Plettenberg Bay. The
entire Golf Estate is surrounded by an electrified palisade fence which is zoned
and has video camera surveilance,
and is controlled by computer from the security office. There is 24-hour patrolled
security. Video cameras keep a record of
all people entering or leaving the Estate.
Management
The Goose Valley
Estate is managed by a General Manager, who goes out of his way to keep all owners and
visitors happy. He has highly competent staff reporting to him, including the
Security Manager, Maintenance Manager, Gardens Manager and Administration
Manager.
Other benefits of ownership:
Golf
There is no entrance fee for
owner members who receive two free membership entrances; a primary and a
secondary membership. Annual golf subscriptions are extremely low and
Goose Valley is without doubt the best value for money golf course in South
Africa. Owner members' green fees are also very attractive.
Wildlife
Goose Valley is an indigenous
estate with incredible diversity of fauna and flora. The Estate is home to small
duiker (buck) and endangered Angulate tortoises. More than 100 bird species have
been recorded on the Estate. Guinea Fowl and many other birds, from the
large Burchell's Coucal to small Sunbirds, are abundant. In the mornings and evenings Mongooses sometimes pop out
the bush and are used to visitors.
Family orientated
Goose Valley is
not just for golfers and many owners do not actually play golf. It is great for kids
and the Golf Club is open to all. A relaxing family orientated environment
ensures a memorable experience. There is a squash court, two tennis courts and a
lovely rim-flow swimming pool overlooking the Bay. Jungle gyms and swings are
enjoyed by the kiddies. Goose Valley is great for walking or jogging and nothing
beats the peace of living on this golf course in the most beautiful part of our
Planet.
There is direct access to
the Keurbooms Estuary which is part of the National Park under administration of
Cape Nature Conservation. The estuary is safe and great for swimming, boating
and fishing and is also home to the rare Knysna Sea Horse. The Pansy Shell, the
emblem of Plettenberg Bay, also breeds in the Estuary and boating is therefore
restricted in certain parts of the river to 10 kph. Skiing areas are
available further up river.
